Michael Phelps

the most decorated, most successful Olympian of all time

As Bob Bowman, Michael Phelps’ long-time coach told the New York Times;

“Michael had no idea what to do with his life, it made me feel terrible. I remember one day I said,

‘Michael, you have all the money anyone your age could ever want or need; you have a profound influence in the world; you have free time, and you’re the most miserable person I know.’”

This about the world’s most decorated Olympian, 22 medals, 18 of which were gold.

What Michael Phelps had done to that point, as so many High-Performing Athletes have to, is to stake his entire identity on his career, staying singularly focused on a goal and achieving extraordinary success.

But over the years, what his laser focus on his swimming career had not allowed him to do,
